All the events below require volunteers and are a fun way
to earn some of your 17 annual volunteer hours.

All the events below require volunteers and are a fun way
to earn some of your 17 annual volunteer hours.
Tea and Tissues: Support and introductions for Kindergarten parents on the first day of kindergarten after drop off.
Spring Fundraiser: The type of fundraiser is currently undecided.
Goodies with Grandparents: Join your grandchildren and other grandparents for pastries, coffee and juice before school starts. *Virtual
Beautification: This quarterly gardening event is perfect for parents who wish to fulfill their volunteer hours on the weekend. Depending on the time of the year you will help with planting, weeding, and general beautification of our campus. High school students are welcome with parents to fulfill community service hours. It is helpful, but not mandatory, to bring your own trowels and gloves. *currently on hold
Scholastic Book Fair: Open during parent/teacher conference weeks in October and April. PTA receives a portion of all sales.
Staff Luncheon: Teacher Appreciation Committee sets up and monitors a buffet-style meal for teachers on the full day of conferences in October and April. Parents help throughout the day or donate dishes to earn volunteer hours.
Fall Carnival: A super-fun evening filled with costumes, games, candy, snacks, cake walks and a costume contest. *Looking into the possibility of a trunk or treat
Families in Need Food Drive: Families donate non-perishable food items for families in need at Elk Plain and the local FISH Food Bank.
Holiday Shop: PTA sets up shop for students to purchase inexpensive holiday gifts for family members during school hours.
Read & Lead: A 10-week reading program for all grades that encourages families to read together. Includes an ice cream party for every student that reaches 1,000 minutes and all classrooms with 100% participation. Culminates in a medal assembly for students who reach 1,000 minutes.
Clothing Drive: Families donate gently used, washed clothing for local clothing bank.
STEM Fair Night: Culminating event for all students who create STEM projects. Includes viewing of all STEM projects with special guests and activities.
Read & Lead Ice Cream Party: For all students who reach 1,000 minutes plus all classrooms with 100% participation (every student completes at least 1 Read and Lead sheet).
Read & Lead Medal Assembly: For all students who reach 1,000 Read and Lead minutes.
Muffins with Mom: Join your children and other moms for pastries, coffee and juice before school starts.
BINGO night: A fun evening of BINGO, prizes, snacks, and a silent auction. All proceeds go directly back to the PTA.
Donuts with Dad: Join your children and other dads for pastries, coffee and juice before school starts.
Field Day: Entire day filled with fun outdoor activities based on a theme. Parent volunteers are needed to run stations, help classroom teachers, and prepare volunteer lunch.
